Companions Amsterdam produced 360 degree grand-scale operas for stadiums and arenas. Together with partners in Europe and Asia we have presented highly successful productions in venues with seating capacities from 10.000 to 100.000 and have reached more than one million spectators since 1993.

Based on our motto ‘opera as you have never seen before’ we brought the most popular opera titles to a new and broad audience in a convincing mix of high artistic quality and a spectacular 360 degree presentation.

The Companions Amsterdam productions address the desire of audiences to collectively experience grand scale events. Companions Amsterdam focuses on the idea that an opera (or other classical music event) should be experienced as a sensual event disassociated from the spatial and atmospheric limitations of traditional theatres or productions.

The Companions Amsterdam productions offer the audience a top down viewing experience and a close proximity to the spectacle. The size of the stage area immerses the audience into a ‘living history journey’ through different worlds and atmospheres, like a 3D film, but without the 3D glasses. The entire floor of the arena or the stadium changes into a magical theatrical world using elaborate stage settings not found on traditional stages, with first class singers and actors and the best available local orchestra and choir.

With state of the art light and sound technology and special effects, our productions address all senses of the audience to the max, leaving each spectator spellbound and carrying home the memory of an unforgettable evening. The available live DVD-recordings are the persuasive proof of that unique experience.
